But, compared to most franchises, Hot Licks allows for far greater self-expression on the part of the franchisee. Hot Licks Homemade Ice Cream, Inc., as the franchiser, will establish certain parameters which will define the Hot Licks concept. These parameters are broad, however, and there is considerable latitude for the individual franchisee to define his or her establishment.
For example, the ice cream menu is a given. The design of the menu and the way each ice cream item is prepared will be consistent between shops. Also, the same ice cream, toppings, syrups, etc. will be consistent between shops. But, shop decor, ambiance, and other menu options may, within limits, be determined by the franchisee.
